Description
This course introduces the fundamental concepts and processes used in land surveying. Students will learn essential skills in measurement, data collection, analysis and documentation, as well as the theories behind the procedures used. Topics include the use of surveying equipment, such as tapes, auto-levels, total stations and GPS, as well as the field procedures associated with each. Emphasis is placed on understanding the role of surveying in construction, civil engineering, and land development, with a focus on accuracy, precision, and proper recordkeeping techniques.
