This course explores domestic and family violence. Students will examine relative perspectives such as feminist, psychological, sociological, historical, and legal. Specific course topics include patriarchy, marital rape, domestic assault, and child sexual abuse. Theories of violence, alternatives to violent interactions and criminal justice system's response will give students an understanding of the impact of domestic violence crimes have on society.
