In this course, students will investigate the natural world throught the process of the scientific method. Basic concepts related to laboratory science and field methods are emphasized through sampling and analyzing various earth materials for phsyical, chemical, and biological properties taht are relevant to current environmental issues. Students will learn concepts in sample collection and storage methods, calbration of field and laboratory instruments, sources of error, and recording and analysis of data. Upon completion of this course students will be proficient in planning, conducting, and reporting on environmental inv
