An introduction to the study of microorganisms with emphasis on those affecting human health and the diseases they cause. The structure, metabolism, pathogenicity, disease prevention, and cure of microorganisms including bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses will be emphasized. Topics of discussion will aslo include mechanisms for prevention of disease transmission. PREREQUISITE: HC114
