This course is designed to present material to the pharmacy technician as it applies to the preparation and dispensing of pharmacologic agents. Drugs are discussed according to their classification, trade and generic name, drug action (mechanism), side effects, toxicity, and contraindications. Drugs will include review of prescriptions as well as non-prescription (over-the-counter) products. GRADE REQUIREMENT: A MINIMUM GRADE OF ā€œCā€ MUST BE EARNED IN THIS COURSE TO BE ELIGIBLE TO GRADUATE FROM THE PHARMACY TECHNICIAN PROGRAM, TO PROGRESS TO COURSES THAT REQUIRE THIS COURSE AS A PREREQUISITE, AND TO PARTICIPATE IN PHR 131 CLI
