This course is an introduction to concepts and practices of surgical technology. It encompasses the role of the surgical technologist, a basic history of surgery, the surgical patient, medical-legal issues, safety, infection control, disinfection and sterilization, and concepts of wound closure and wound healing.GRADE REQUIREMENT: A minimum grade of C is required to pass this course and meet program requirements.
