Description

This course will provide the student with an overview of evidence-based community correctional supervision and treatment programs. Beginning with the history and development of probation and parole, the roles and responsibilities of probation and parole officers are discussed. Presentence investigation, case management, the different programs used in supervision of offenders in the community, and prisoner reentry after incarceration are taught. The differences between adult and juvenile community corrections are discussed.
