This course examines the principles, practices, and challenges of managing and organizing criminal justice agencies, including law enforcement, courts, and corrections. Emphasis is placed on understanding organizational structure, leadership styles, communication, decision-making, and resource management within the context of public-sector agencies operating under legal and political constraints. Students will explore key theories of management and organizational behavior as they apply to criminal justice institutions, with special attention to issues such as bureaucratic functioning, policy implementation, personnel management, accountability, interagency collaboration, and ethical leadership.
