Description

This course will include the survey of human anatomy and physiology, the structure of the head and neck as applied to dental assisting, the function of the maxilla and mandible, processes, foramen, sutures, and major nerve and blood supply. It also provides fundamental instruction of the oral structures as they apply to oral histology, embryology, morphology and dental anatomy. The study of oral health and prevention of dental caries, periodontal disease and other pathologic conditions through patient education in plaque removal, good oral habits, fluoride therapy and nutritional counseling as it relates to oral health will be introduced.
