This clinical is 4 credits or 160 contact hours.
This course provides the medical assisting students the opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge in the clinical setting. Students are placed in medical facilities of Rapid City and surrounding areas to gain hands on experience in the clinical skills required as an entry level medical assistant. Students are under the supervision of the facility and are periodically evaluated by the preceptor. PREREQUISITES: STUDENTS MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE THREE PREVIOUS SEMESTERS OF THE MA PROGRAM, OR RECEIVE PROGRAM COORDINATORS PERMISSION TO ATTEND.
