Description
This course provides an introduction to classification, morphology, identification, and sensitivity testing of microogranisms. More technical aspects of clniical microbiology including differential staining and testing for detection identification, and disease correlation of bacteria, parasites, and fungus will also be covered. PREQUISITE: MATH 101, HC114, PH104, PH125, PH 165, PH131, PH132, CHEM106, CHEM106L, and MLT205. GRADE REQUIREMENT: A MINIMUM GRADE OF C MUST BE EARNED IN THIS COURSE TO BE ELIGIBLE TO GRADUATE FROM THE MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN PROGRAM AND PROGRESS TO MLT CLINICAL PRACTICUM.
